L. McElcheran
Trumpeter
Sarah McElcheran is a Canadian musical institution all
on her own. A hard-working side (wo)man, she also plays a mean bass
guitar and some percussion too! She told us that she got her start
on the Toronto reggae scene, playing for some of the giants of that
genre, such as Leroy Sibbles, Dennis Brown. Since
then she became a noted Jazz player, but not without chalking up
an impressive list of credits in a variety of musical styles. She
has appeared on albums by artists as African Tariq Abubakar
and Afronubians Tikisa, Doc Cheatham, Marc Jordan, Eddie
"Cleanhead" Vinson, Jackie Washington, Paul James, Jane
Sibery, Ron Sexsmith, Ani DiFranco, The Pursuit of Happiness, Jaymz
Bee and the Royal Jelly Orchestra, the Wild Strwberries, Trebel
Charger, K-Os, Sum 41, Hawksely Workman, Bob Wiseman, John Southworth,
Molly Johnson, Kurt Swinghammer, Big Rude Jake and the
Blue Raincoats. She has also done some Television
soundtrack work including themes to "Max and Ruby"
and "SmartAsk". |
